Accounts receivable (AR) job responsibilities include managing customer accounts, creating and sending invoices, tracking and collecting payments, reconciling financial records, and resolving billing issues to ensure timely incoming cash flow for a business.

Core Responsibilities

  • Invoice Management:Generating and sending accurate invoices and billing statements to customers for goods and services.
  • Payment Collection:Monitoring customer accounts for overdue payments and following up with customers via phone, email, or other correspondence to secure payment.
  • Receipt Processing:Timely posting and recording of customer payments and deposits to their respective accounts.
  • Account Reconciliation:Performing account reconciliations and investigating any irregularities or discrepancies in customer accounts and receipts to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Customer Account Management:Maintaining up-to-date and accurate customer files, including contact information, billing records, and payment history.
