Position description:

The Equipment Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective disposition of the company's cargo handling equipment, spares and certification, and for maintaining related records and statistics.

Duties and responsibilities:

Assist the administrator of Equipment System - SIMS (Super-User) which includes training and supporting users, as well as uploading/updating of files and records

Supports in assisting the control and maintaining inventories of strategic location for centrally managed equipment such as rubber airbags, inflators, containers including its recertification, exchange and service programs.

Preparing inventory statistics and reports.

Assist in completing vessel and equipment hub stocks updates and adjustments such as End of Voyage Report, Hub Report, etc.

Preparing standard forms

Assist in identifying and following up on board equipment losses with owners.

Assisting with the preparation of documentation e.g. commercial invoices, packing lists, etc.

Assist in processing of standard equipment and spare parts requests relating to the company's equipment on vessels.

Qualification

Education: Computer data base systems; Supply Chain/Inventory Management

Training: Procurement & Sourcing / Logistics / Background on Shipping Industry

Working experience:

Working within a small team

Sound understanding/knowledge of logistics

Must be aware of commercial implications of equipment management

Well organized, disciplined, ability to work under time pressure

Personal Qualities:

Stock/asset management experience and competent in use of associated data base systems

Attention to detail, good organizational skills, and ability to work to deadlines under time pressure

Familiar with basic accounting procedures and use of purchase order systems.

Ability to teach, support and guide others

Knowledge/understanding of logistics
