The QA Engineer ensures the quality, stability, and business fit of all changes made in the client's SAP Business One (SAP B1) system. This includes testing developments, configurations, and integrations delivered by external consultants before they go live.

The role supports the SAP B1 Product Owner by managing the QA process for system enhancements, upgrades, and data operations. It also represents the Supply Chain Tech team in the Tech Change Advisory Board (CAB) to explain and advocate for SAP B1-related changes.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Governance

  • Create and maintain test strategies (regression, functional, integration, UAT).
  • Work with Product Owner and consultants to design test plans.
  • Prepare QA activities at the sprint level.
  • Ensure quality checks and approvals before release.

Test Execution & Oversight

  • Run detailed test cases on configurations, enhancements, and integrations.
  • Validate SAP B1 objects, stored procedures, and workflows.
  • Log and track defects; manage re-testing with consultants.
  • Review technical documents against requirements.

Integration & Data Testing

  • Test SAP B1 processes integrated with WMS, eCommerce, Salesforce, etc.
  • Use SQL, SAP Query Generator, and reporting tools to check data accuracy.
  • Validate DTW uploads and data integrity.

Release & Deployment

  • Participate in release planning and change control.
  • Support go-live and post-deployment validation (hypercare).
  • Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and deliverables.
  • Present SAP B1 changes in CAB meetings.

Documentation & Standards

  • Keep QA documents (test scripts, logs, known issues, reports) up to date.
  • Contribute to QA SOPs and standards.
  • Conduct walkthroughs with business teams for complex workflows.

Engineering & Process

  • Apply structured QA practices (defect prevention, risk-based testing).
  • Identify automation opportunities (SQL, scripts, tools).
  • Focus on root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Align QA processes with engineering best practices.

Experience & Skills

Professional Experience

  • 3+ years QA experience in SAP (SAP B1 preferred).
  • Experience working with external consultants or vendors.
  • Familiar with Agile/sprint-based testing.
  • Exposure to ERP functions (finance, warehouse, procurement).

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of SAP B1 modules/configurations (preferred)
  • Proficient in SAP Query Generator, DTW, and Integration Framework (preferred)
  • SQL for data analysis and validation.
  • Experience with stored procedures, Jira/Azure DevOps, and Git workflows.
  • Systems thinking, debugging, and scalable QA process design.
