ABOUT THE ROLE
The
Head of SHG Academy
will establish and lead SHG's internal learning institution, driving people capability and professional excellence across all brands, functions, and leadership levels.
This visionary leader will professionalize training, elevate FOH and BOH standards, and embed SHG's 5C People & Culture Plan (Culture, Capability, Compliance, Change, and Career) through structured learning programs, certifications, and continuous development systems. The SHG Academy will serve as a center of excellence for hospitality education, shaping the next generation of leaders and frontliners who will champion SHG's culture of excellence and innovation in modern dining.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute the
SHG Academy Masterplan
aligned with business growth, innovation, and leadership pipeline needs.- Establish the Academy as a recognized training institution with tiered certifications (Bronze–Silver–Gold) and LMS-based learning pathways.
- Collaborate with HR, Operations, and Brand Heads to ensure learning initiatives directly impact KPIs —
Guest Count, Consistency, EBITDA, and Attrition. Benchmark against global hospitality academies and best practices in world-class learning organizations.
Curriculum Development & Implementation
Design and institutionalize training programs covering FOH and BOH mastery, Store Leader development, Management Trainee onboarding, and leadership training.
- Standardize training and certification for
New Store Openings (NSO)
. Partner with Japanese culinary and service experts to ensure authenticity and excellence in standards.
Learning Systems & Tools
Build and oversee the
SHG Learning Management System (LMS)
.- Develop digital modules, certification tracks, and performance dashboards.
Implement competency-based assessments and clear promotion criteria.
People & Culture Development
Champion SHG's 5C People & Culture Plan and core values:
Owner's Mindset, Excellence, Perseverance, Integrity, Malasakit,
and
Pioneering Spirit.- Build succession pipelines, leadership academies, and train-the-trainer systems.
Strengthen partnerships with top hospitality schools to nurture future industry talent.
Governance, Compliance & Measurement
Track key learning KPIs:
training hours, certification rates, and post-training performance improvement.- Ensure compliance with DOLE and TESDA standards.
- Manage the Academy's budget, facilities, and institutional partnerships.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Education, or Business Administration.
- Postgraduate degree or certification in Training, Org Development, or Hotel Management is preferred.
- With 10–15 years in Hospitality Training or Operations, with at least 5 years in a Senior Leadership role.
- Strong background in F&B, hotels, or Learning Institutions with proven success in building academies or large-scale training systems.
- Deep understanding of Front-of-House (FOH) and Back-of-House (BOH) operations.
- Expertise in curriculum design, instructional systems, and learning technology.
- Strategic thinker with operational discipline and a people-centric mindset.
- High emotional intelligence and strong alignment with SHG's values of Malasakit and Owner's Mindset.
