We're looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Inventory Accounting Specialist to join our finance team and support the accuracy and integrity of our inventory records.

Position Summary:

The Inventory Accounting Specialist is responsible for overseeing and maintaining accurate inventory records, performing reconciliations, and supporting month-end close processes. This role will partner with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure proper inventory valuation and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts in accordance with GAAP
  • Monitor inventory transactions and perform root-cause analysis of discrepancies
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counts; investigate variances
  • Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations related to inventory
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Analyze inventory reserves, including excess, obsolete, and shrinkage
  • Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Provide reports and insights to support decision-making and cost reduction initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 1 year focused on inventory
  • Strong understanding of inventory accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Amenable to travel from time to time
  • Can start immediately

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in manufacturing, retail, or e-commerce environments
