The Assistant IT Manager (IT 2IC) leads and manages the AV/IT team, overseeing all IT systems, technical support, and surveillance operations within the Palace. Using strong organizational and technical skills, you will coordinate and perform technical tasks, ensure smooth functioning of all communication and technical equipment, and maintain effective communication throughout job progress. You will also collaborate with the head office on network or technical support when required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field (mandatory)

  • Professional certifications preferred:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) / Professional (CCNP)

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate / MCSA / MCSE
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate
  • Cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP) advantageous

  • UAE Driver's License advantageous.

  • Minimum 6-8 years of professional experience in IT support and systems management

  • At least 2-3 years in a supervisory or second-in-command IT role, preferably in an engineering or technical environment
  • Proven experience in supporting enterprise networks, user systems, security operations, and IT project execution
  • Familiarity with managing engineering software platforms and IT infrastructure in a facilities or estates setting.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

IT Operations Management

  • Strong command of IT systems and infrastructure, including servers, networking, storage, and cloud-based platforms
  • Ability to monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot IT systems across departments
  • Ensure uptime, data integrity, and IT performance standards

Technical Expertise

  • Knowledge of Windows/Linux servers, Microsoft 365, network protocols, cybersecurity tools, and virtualization technologies
  • Exposure to engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, Primavera) and integration with internal IT systems

Cybersecurity and Compliance

  • Support the enforcement of cybersecurity standards, data protection measures, and access control policies
  • Assist with system audits, risk assessments, and compliance initiatives (ISO standards, etc.)

User Support & Service Delivery

  • Oversee user helpdesk operations, ensuring timely resolution of IT support requests
  • Supervise IT technicians and provide hands-on guidance when necessary
  • Support IT onboarding and training for new staff

Project Coordination & Implementation

  • Assist in planning and implementing system upgrades, migrations, and technology rollouts
  • Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and internal teams on IT projects
  • Maintain documentation of systems, procedures, and configurations

Leadership & Communication

  • Act as a reliable second-in-command for the IT department, stepping in during the absence of the Head of IT
  • Provide clear reporting, updates, and escalation management
  • Build collaborative relationships across departments to deliver IT solutions

Procurement & Asset Management

  • Track IT inventory, software licenses, and hardware allocations
  • Assist with procurement of IT equipment, evaluating supplier offers and specifications
