Position Overview

The Data Warehouse Consultant will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing scalable data warehouse and AI-driven solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong track record of delivering end-to-end data warehouses, making key architectural decisions, and executing them effectively. This role requires someone who can create impact quickly, work closely with onsite stakeholders, and deliver tangible results within the first few weeks.

This is a six (6)-month consultancy engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the full lifecycle design and implementation of scalable, high-performance data warehouse solutions aligned with business requirements.
  • Translate business needs into dimensional data models, ETL/ELT workflows, and analytics-ready datasets.
  • Recommend and deploy appropriate architectures, frameworks, and tools for data warehousing and integration.
  • Develop, monitor, and optimize ETL/ELT processes using modern platforms and scripting.
  • Enhance data models, queries, and overall system performance while ensuring compliance with governance, quality, security, and privacy standards.
  • Drive system consolidation and migration from legacy environments to modern cloud-based platforms.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation including data dictionaries, lineage, and process flows.
  • Provide expertise in BI/reporting integration to support consistent and reliable analytics.
  • Deliver quick wins and actionable insights early in the engagement.
  • Mentor and upskill internal team members to ensure sustainable in-house capability.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 8–10 years of experience in data warehousing, BI, or data engineering, with proven success in building and implementing data warehouses from the ground up.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver rapid results and set clear priorities.
  • Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, or similar).
  • Strong SQL/T-SQL proficiency, including data modeling (star/snowflake schema) and performance tuning.
  • Solid background in ETL/ELT development and scheduling (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory).
  • Experience with data lakes and integration from multiple sources such as ERP systems, SharePoint, and APIs.
  • Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI preferred) and data visualization best practices.
  • Advanced SQL programming and system optimization skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of metadata management, governance, and data quality frameworks.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

NICE-TO-HAVE

  • Certifications in Azure Data Engineer, Microsoft Fabric, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation and data processing.
  • Familiarity with big data platforms and modern data stack tools.
  • Industry background in healthcare or distribution.
  • Exposure to AI/ML tools and implementation.
