Qualifications:

• Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years in a managerial or team leader role within the aviation industry, with a focus on aviation security, safety, or operations. Experience in managing teams and coordinating complex operations in a high-pressure environment is essential.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the following:
• Office for Transportation Security (OTS) regulations – Knowledge of the national security policies, standards, and procedures set forth by OTS to ensure the safe and secure handling of all airport and aviation operations.
• Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) – Familiarity with policies that govern airport operations and compliance with MIAA regulations, ensuring seamless integration with broader aviation and security mandates.
• Aviation Industry Standards – Thorough knowledge of the aviation industry's global standards, best practices, and emerging trends in security, safety, and operational efficiency.
• Skills:
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders, including team members, senior management, and regulatory bodies.
• Leadership: Proven leadership capabilities, with a track record of effectively managing and motivating teams. The ability to foster collaboration, delegate tasks, and provide guidance while maintaining high standards of performance.

Job Description:

• Daily Operations Management: Oversee and manage the day-to-day flight operations, ensuring the seamless coordination of aviation security (Avsec) personnel, safety procedures, and flight schedules. Regularly monitor operational performance and implement adjustments as necessary to maintain efficiency.
• Schedule Planning and Execution: Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Avsec personnel schedules, ensuring optimal staffing levels and resource allocation. Coordinate with relevant departments to address any scheduling conflicts, absences, or special operational needs, particularly during peak times or audits.
• Safety Protocols and Compliance: Establish and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements at all times. Conduct regular safety briefings and audits to ensure that all operations comply with OTS and MIAA regulations as well as international aviation standards. Address any non-compliance issues immediately and implement corrective actions.
• Team Leadership and Management: Provide leadership, supervision, and support to all aviation personnel, including Avsec teams, flight staff, and ground support personnel. Create a collaborative and productive work environment by fostering open communication, providing ongoing training, and offering performance feedback. Ensure that the team operates efficiently and remains focused on meeting both daily and long-term objectives.
• Crisis and Incident Management: Be the first point of contact for crisis management and incident response. Develop and implement strategies to handle emergencies, including security breaches, safety incidents, and flight disruptions. Liaise with airport authorities, regulatory bodies, and senior management to ensure rapid and effective resolution of critical situations.
• Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with various departments, such as airport authorities, ground handling teams, and external contractors, to ensure the smooth execution of operations. Attend and contribute to regular meetings with the Security Director, providing updates on operational performance, safety issues, and any other concerns that may affect overall airport security or operational efficiency.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on operational activities, incidents, safety audits, and team performance to be presented to senior management. Ensure accurate record-keeping of all incidents, safety inspections, and any corrective measures implemented, in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies. Stay informed about industry developments, new regulations, and emerging security threats, and adjust operational strategies accordingly. Conduct regular team assessments and debriefings to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.
