
Data Governance Officer

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Data Governance Officer to drive our HR data governance initiatives. This role will ensure that HR data is managed with integrity, consistency, and alignment to organizational priorities. The ideal candidate has experience implementing governance practices across business units with varying levels of data maturity, and can balance strategic vision with practical execution.
WHAT IS THE JOB LIKE?
- HR Data Governance Strategy: Under the guidance of the People Analytics Manager, design and implement data governance strategies tailored to HR, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
- Business Unit & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with HR teams across business units to roll out governance standards, address data quality challenges, and build maturity in data management practices. Serve as the dedicated Corporate HR representative in initiatives where HR data is impacted—including HR systems migration, policy review and updates, data privacy compliance, BU-level data governance projects, and function-led initiatives (e.g., IT or Digital Transformation projects).
- Governance Working Group: Facilitate regular data governance meetings, driving alignment, knowledge-sharing, and adoption of standardized practices and policies.
- Data Quality, Monitoring & Reporting: Define and monitor governance and data quality targets for critical HR data elements/assets, ensuring progress is tracked, issues are addressed, and the overall success of data governance initiatives is measured through clear reporting on progress, challenges, and impact.
- Enterprise Alignment: Collaborate with non-HR stakeholders such as the Data Privacy Office, IT, and the Digital Transformation Office to align HR data governance efforts with enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Analytics, Employee Listening & Ad-Hoc Support: Support HR analytics and employee listening projects, as well as ad-hoc requests, ensuring that governance principles are embedded in survey design, analysis, and reporting practices.
WHO ARE YOU?
- At least 2 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles, preferably within HR or people data.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and data quality management.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders across business units and varying data maturity levels.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with HR systems, data privacy laws, and regulatory requirements is an advantage.
