Financial Systems Analyst

Job Summary

As a Workday Financial Systems Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal configuration and utilization of Workday Financials (FINS) within the organization. You will partner with Finance and IT teams to analyze financial processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement effective Workday solutions that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control.

This role requires a fully qualified accountant with a strong background in accounting, financial systems, and process improvement, combined with an understanding of internal controls and their importance in day-to-day operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will:

• Configure, maintain, and optimize the Workday Financials (FINS) system to support global finance operations and reporting.
• Support the implementation of change across multiple Finance systems, including Workday, Salesforce, and Concur, and assist businesses post-transition.
• Maintain a lean global chart of accounts structure that supports both statutory and management reporting.
• Define and maintain account dimensions and posting rules, ensuring compliance with corporate accounting policies and promoting consistent practices across entities.
• Collaborate with local Finance teams and system consultants to deliver compliant solutions for VAT and sales tax requirements.
• Support the development and delivery of finance integrations (e.g., banking, digital VAT returns, payroll) to ensure end-to-end process efficiency.
• Contribute to the design and standardization of month-end and year-end close processes.
• Partner with Finance Transformation, local Finance, and Master Data teams to deliver accurate, value-added management and statutory reporting.
• Ensure strong internal controls and audit readiness are embedded in system design.
• Educate Finance teams on Workday security groups, roles, and their impact on daily operations.
• Support data migration of historical financial information into Workday, including GL, AP, AR, and banking data.
• Conduct testing to validate that system configurations and business processes operate as intended.
• Prepare and deliver training materials and sessions for Finance super users and provide early-life support following deployment.
• Continuously drive process improvement and system optimization aligned with best practices and evolving business needs.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in Workday Financials (FINS) configuration and implementation.
• Strong understanding of Workday FINS functionalities, financial processes, and accounting principles.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and exposure to global finance operations.
• Hands-on experience in at least 2–3 of the following areas: Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Banking, Journals, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Reporting, or VAT.
• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Experience working with ERP systems; exposure to system design for Finance is an advantage.
• Previous experience in a PLC or multinational reporting environment is preferred but not essential.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a logical and methodical approach to resolving issues.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis, reporting, and system configuration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance, IT, and transformation teams.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated focus on controls, processes, and scalability, ensuring risks are minimized as the business grows.
• Understanding of key business and financial drivers, with the ability to assess how changes may impact accounting and tax processes.
