About the role

We are seeking a Safety Officer 3 to join our dedicated team at ASIAN FILIPINO (ASFIL) ENGINEERING DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION CO.'. This is a full-time position based in Metro Manila, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees and contractors.

What you'll be doing

  1. Developing, implementing and monitoring safety policies and procedures to minimize risks and ensure compliance with industry regulations
  2. Conducting regular site inspections and audits to identify and address any safety concerns
  3. Providing training and support to employees on safe work practices
  4. Investigating incidents and accidents, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  5. Maintaining detailed records and reporting on safety performance
  6. Collaborating with project teams to incorporate safety considerations into operational planning
  7. Staying up-to-date with changes in health and safety legislation and best practices

What we're looking for

  1. Registered Civil Engineer, MS or Doctoral Degree in related field is an added advantage.
  2. Must be an accredited Safety Officer III (SO III)
  3. With training and certification in Basic Occupational Safety and Health ( Bosh or its equivalent) and Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH)
  4. Experience as Safety and Health officer in construction supervision of any related infrastructure Project ; Three (3) years or more
  5. Significant experience as a Safety Officer or similar role in the construction industry
  6. Thorough understanding of relevant health and safety regulations and their application
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with employees at all levels
  8. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and mitigate safety risks
  9. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  10. Relevant qualifications in occupational health and safety or a related field
