Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Management: Estimate and monitor costs for materials, labor, and time, preparing budgets and tracking expenditures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contract Management: Prepare tender documents, negotiate contracts with contractors and suppliers, and manage contractual obligations and payments.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential financial and legal risks and advise clients on strategies to mitigate them.
  • Project Oversight: Review architectural plans and specifications to determine project feasibility and cost implications.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare reports on project finances, ensuring compliance with legal and quality standards and providing clients with value for money.
  • Procurement: Source and manage the procurement of materials, contractors, and subcontractors.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong Analytical and Numerical Skills: To accurately estimate costs and manage project budgets.
  • Knowledge of Construction Methods and Materials: A deep understanding of the construction process is crucial for effective cost management.
  • Negotiation and Communication: Essential for negotiating contracts and liaising with clients and contractors.
  • Project Management: To coordinate various aspects of the project and ensure it stays on schedule.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with specialized software for cost calculation, tracking, and project management.
