DUTIES & TASKS

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts for projects.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contracts to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and measurements for materials and works.
  • Manage tendering and bidding processes, including preparing bid documents.
  • Analyze contractor and supplier quotations and recommend the most cost-effective options.
  • Monitor project expenditures to ensure compliance with budget.
  • Prepare progress claims, variations, and change orders.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, payments, and claims with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Conduct site visits to verify progress and validate quantities completed.
  • Provide advice on cost control, risk management, and value engineering.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certification is a plus but not required (e.g., RICS, CIQS, AIQS, or equivalent).
  • 3 years relevant experience in estimating and cost management within the construction industry.

  • Familiarity with local building codes, standards, and regulations.

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs.

  • Proficiency in estimation and quantity surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, CostX, Bluebeam, MS Excel).
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
