About Us

Bayshore Builders is a well-established construction company based in Queenstown, New Zealand. We specialise in large-scale, high-end residential homes, working in collaboration with some of the country's most respected architects.

With a team of 20–25 dedicated professionals, we typically manage 4–5 active projects at a time, ranging from new builds to extensive renovations. Each project is a bespoke undertaking, spanning 12 to 24 months, and demanding a high level of craftsmanship, detail, and expertise.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join us on a remote, contract basis. The ideal candidate will have recent and relevant New Zealand construction experience, including strong knowledge of NZ materials, products, pricing, and industry standards.

You'll play a key role in supporting our project delivery team by providing accurate take-offs, reviewing documentation and assisting with estimates for high-end residential builds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately perform quantity take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings
  • Identify and communicate any areas requiring further clarification or detail
  • Interpret specifications and plans with precision
  • Mark up drawings and highlight key project specifications
  • Support estimating tasks and cost planning as needed

About you

You are a detail-oriented, proactive professional who is confident working independently and collaborating with a remote team. Ideally, you bring:

  • Recent experience in New Zealand's residential construction sector
  • Strong knowledge of NZ building products, suppliers, and pricing
  • A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to work efficiently, manage your own deadlines, and problem-solve
  • A positive, can-do attitude and collaborative mindset
