The
Home-Based DCX Tax Specialist
is responsible for ensuring compliance with Philippine tax laws while supporting the company in managing tax risks, handling audits, and identifying strategic tax planning opportunities. Your expertise in local tax regulations and attention to detail will help safeguard our financial integrity and drive informed business decisions.

    Managing multiple deadlines, maintaining a compliance calendar, and prioritizing tasks to meet filing schedules.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Compliance Tasks

  • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns (e.g., VAT, EWT, income tax, final tax, DST) through BIR eFPS/eBIRForms.
  • Ensure withholding tax compliance, including proper tagging of transactions and timely remittance.
  • Validate daily transactions (purchases, expenses) to ensure proper VAT and withholding application.
  • Monitor vendor invoices for BIR compliance (e.g., proper TIN, VAT details, valid official receipts).
  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable and Payroll/HR to confirm correct withholding taxes on vendors, contractors, and employees.
  • Maintain a Tax Compliance Calendar to proactively track and prevent missed filings and deadlines.
  • Maintain updated tax records and supporting documentation for audit readiness.
  • Prepare and submit annual registration, renewal, and other statutory requirements with BIR, LGUs and other government agencies.
  • Provide supporting schedules and respond to external auditors' tax queries during financial audits.

Advisory and Strategic Tasks

  • Handle BIR tax examinations, assessments, and audits, including preparing documents, drafting position papers, and coordinating with BIR examiners.
  • Perform periodic self-assessments of tax risks and exposures to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Respond to day-to-day tax queries from internal teams to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions.
  • Monitor BIR issuances, new laws, and regulations, assess their impact, and advise management on adjustments.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to align tax compliance with monthly closing and reporting.
  • Work with FP&A on tax forecasting and budgeting to project tax liabilities for cash flow planning
  • Develop and maintain a Tax Knowledge Base — an internal repository of FAQs, guides, and updates to support non-finance teams in understanding tax requirements.
  • Partner with external advisors and government agencies for tax-related matters.
  • Support tax planning initiatives and process improvements, including automation and documentation enhancements.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience:
    3–5 years of tax experience, including filing, compliance, and coordination with the BIR.
  • Hands-on experience in handling BIR assessments and audits.
  • Strong knowledge of VAT, withholding tax, and corporate income tax.
  • Language Proficiency:
    Strong verbal, written, and English communication skills.
  • Working schedule:
    Ability to work overnight/graveyard shifts in Philippine time or within US operating hours.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced MS Excel (pivot, formulas, reconciliation).
  • Experience with ERP systems (Workday preferred).
  • Knowledge of BIR eFPS, eBIRForms, and other tax filing platforms.
  • Resides in, or willing to regularly travel to Pampanga to handle tax requirements and coordination.
  • Additional certification (CPA) is a plus but not required.
