This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong background in cloud-based (AWS) data engineering, automation, and DevOps practices, looking to work in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Architect and maintain scalable data pipelines leveraging AWS services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, and RDS to support evolving business needs.
  • Design and implement robust ETL workflows to efficiently ingest, transform, and store structured and unstructured data.
  • Administer and optimize relational databases, ensuring performance, reliability, and alignment with operational requirements.
  • Champion data quality and governance, applying rigorous validation, monitoring, and compliance best practices.
  • Automate data workflows using Python, SQL, and Bash to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Enable data-driven decision-making by structuring datasets for seamless integration with BI tools like Tableau and Metabase.
  • Apply DevOps principles to data engineering, including version control, automated testing, and CI/CD deployment using Terraform and GitHub Actions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to translate complex business requirements into scalable, high-impact data solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in data engineering, with a strong track record of working on cloud-based data platforms, particularly AWS.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience in data processing, scripting, and workflow automation.
  • Solid command of SQL and relational database management systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience with AWS services, including Glue, S3, Lambda, and RDS, for building and maintaining scalable data solutions.
  • Deep understanding of ETL/ELT methodologies, with proven success in designing and deploying efficient data pipelines.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and BI tools, such as Tableau or Metabase, to support business intelligence and reporting needs.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, including Terraform and CloudFormation, for automating data infrastructure deployment.
  • Strong commitment to data quality, security, and governance, with a focus on reliability, compliance, and best practices.
