Job Title: Junior System Quality Assurance (QA) Officer

Job Type: Full-time | Entry Level

Division: Systems Development and Administration Unit

Job Summary: The Junior System Quality Assurance (QA) Officer plays a key role in ensuring the quality, functionality, and usability of systems before deployment. As an entry-level position, this role supports QA processes by performing system testing, documenting bugs, and coordinating with developers to resolve issues. The position is ideal for fresh graduates or individuals with limited experience looking to grow their skills in system and software quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct functional, usability, regression, and performance testing based on predefined test cases and standards.
  • Create and execute manual test cases and report findings clearly.
  • Document system bugs, errors, and other issues with complete steps for reproduction.
  • Collaborate closely with the development team to clarify requirements and resolve defects.
  • Participate in reviews of requirements, specifications, and other project documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining QA documentation such as test plans, logs, and reports.
  • Help ensure that all delivered systems meet quality and performance benchmarks.
  • Stay updated with basic QA tools, best practices, and system testing trends.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the QA Lead or Department Head.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or any related field.
  • Experience: Internship or academic background in software/system testing is an advantage but not required.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Basic understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.

  • Familiarity with databases, browsers, and basic front-end/backend system functions.
  • Knowledge of basic debugging and test documentation.

  • Soft Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to learn new tools and processes quickly.
Preferred but not required:
  • Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Bugzilla).
  • Knowledge of basic HTML/CSS, SQL, or any programming language.
