Job Summary

The Treasury Assistant ensures the accurate, efficient, and secure handling of store funds. This includes preparing change funds, monitoring daily collections, processing deposits, and managing petty cash. The role also supports treasury operations through reconciliation, reporting, and auditing to maintain financial integrity, compliance, and smooth store operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare and issue change funds for cashiers at the start of operations.
  • Ensure availability of funds to support both office and store operations.
  • Accept daily cash collections from cashiers and verify deposits with the bank.
  • Accept payments from scrappers, employees, and other parties; issue official receipts and sales invoices when necessary.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of cash funds, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Safekeep, manage, and replenish petty cash funds in accordance with company policy.
  • Verify and reconcile bank deposits and payments.
  • Conduct collection of sales proceeds and ensure timely bank deposits.
  • Issue and monitor membership cards distributed to members.
  • Conduct surprise audits at assigned store branches; act as reliever in branches when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with financial controls, and safeguard all treasury-related documents.
  • Perform other treasury-related tasks as may be assigned by immediate supervisors.
Working Relationships
  • Coordinates closely with Accounting Department and Treasury Head Office
  • Works with Cashiers, Store Supervisors, and Branch Auditors for treasury-related transactions

Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's/College Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Banking, Commerce, or equivalent.

Work Experience:

  • Fresh graduates are welcome.
  • Experience in treasury, cashiering, or related fields is an advantage but not required.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of counterfeit detection and basic banking transactions.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) and comfortable with financial systems.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills; keen attention to detail.
  • Flexible and willing to work retail schedules (weekends/holidays).
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
