About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant / Taxation Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on financial reporting, tax compliance, bookkeeping, and client service delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes and compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Develop and maintain workpapers for client files on Xero using FYI Docs.
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reports for clients.

Tax Compliance:

  • Prepare income tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities, including tax reconciliations.
  • Liaise with statutory authorities, such as the ATO and ASIC, on behalf of clients.
  • Perform Division 7A calculations and prepare loan agreements.
  • Prepare CGT workings and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and concessions.
  • Stay informed on changes in tax laws to ensure clients' compliance.
  • Collaborate with managers to provide business advisory, tax planning, and optimisation services.

Bookkeeping:

  • Prepare BAS workpapers.
  • Review and reconcile external bookkeeper BAS workings.
  • Assist with the lodgement of BAS for client groups.

Client Communication and Service Delivery:

  • Work collaboratively within the team to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery to clients.

Software Proficiency:

  • Efficiently use accounting software, including Xero, MYOB, and Microsoft Office, for various tasks.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Provide support with ad hoc tasks as required.
  • Uphold clients Customer Care core values and principles.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications (e.g., CPA or CA) or working toward them.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero and MYOB.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work.
