We are currently seeking for a GOVERNMENT RELATIONS SPECIALIST

Job Summary:

The Government Relations Specialist is responsible for navigating the complex regulatory landscape of the Philippine lending industry. You will serve as the "face" of the company to key government bodies, ensuring that our operations remain compliant with evolving fintech laws while advocating for policies that support business growth. This role requires a blend of legal literacy, diplomatic communication, and strategic networking.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Regulatory Liaison& Representation

  2. Agency Representation: Serve as the primary point of contact and representative for the company in all dealings with:

o SEC& BSP: For lending licenses and financial regulations

o NPC: For data privacy compliance

o AMLC: For anti-money laundering reporting

o BIR& DTI: For taxation and fair-trade practices

o DICT& LGUs: For digital infrastructure and local business permits

  • Attend public consultations, forums, and stakeholder meetings to represent the company's interests in fintech regulation.

  • Policy Monitoring& Analysis

  • Legislative Tracking: Monitor the House of Representatives, the Senate, and administrative agencies for new laws, circulars, and guidelines.

  • Interpretation: Translate complex legal developments into actionable insights for the management team.

  • Compliance& Reporting

  • Coordinate with Legal and Compliance teams to prepare and submit mandatory regulatory reports and licensing renewals.

  • Manage the end-to-end process of business permit renewals and company registration updates with LGUs and the SEC.

  • Advocacy& Strategic Communication

  • Position Papers: Draft policy briefs, advocacy letters, and white papers to influence pending regulations or legislative bills.

  • Relationship Management: Proactively build and maintain a network of contacts within government offices and industry associations(e.g., Fintech , Lending Association).

  • Others:

  • Perform other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience: 3–5 years of experience in Government Relations, Public Affairs, or Regulatory Compliance, specifically within the fintech, banking, or lending sector in the Philippines

  2. Education: Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Law, or Communications

  3. Network: An existing professional network within the SEC, BSP, or NPC is highly preferred

  4. Skills: Deep understanding of the Data Privacy Act, AMLA, and Revised Corporation Code

Excellent "lobbying" and negotiation skills characterized by pakikipagkapwa (professional rapport) and Superior drafting skills for formal government correspondence.
