What You'll Bring to the Role

Experience

• Minimum
  1 year of Collections Agent experience
  in the BPO industry (required)
• Experience handling
  phone, chat, or email-based
  customer interactions
• Experience in the Financial Services industry (preferred)
• Administrative or business-related qualification (desirable)

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Strong understanding of contact center operations and performance metrics
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
• Strong people skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
• High attention to detail with advanced data entry accuracy
• Proven time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Collect payments on past due bills
• Meet collections targets in relevant metrics
• Utilize computer systems to handle skip tracing
• Inform clients of overdue accounts and amounts currently owed
• Review terms of sale or loan documents
• Ensure all customer information is correct, including phone numbers and addresses
• Listen to customers' stories and determine if debt can be collected
• Set up repayment plans and new terms of sale
• Offer advice or refer customers to debt counselors
• Record new commitments to repay debt, clearly establishing the amount and date of payment
• Send statements of delinquency to credit bureaus
• Initiate repossession proceedings or hand over accounts to law specialists
• Purge records once debt has been satisfied
• Report satisfied debts in necessary databases
• Follow local laws dealing with debt collection
• Print reports for management
