ROLE OVERVIEW
Virtual Workmate is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Bookkeeping & Finance Virtual Assistant to support the financial operations of growing businesses. This full-time role is ideal for tradespeople, online store owners, and clinic managers who require accurate, cost-effective financial support without the need for an in-house bookkeeper.
With the rising demand to reduce overheads while maintaining sound financial administration, this position offers business owners the ability to streamline and outsource their finance-related tasks. You will play a key role in keeping financial records up to date, ensuring compliance, and providing clarity on day-to-day financial activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accounting Software Management: Enter and manage transactions using accounting platforms such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks.
• Accounts Receivable & Payable: Track payments due, issue invoices, monitor receipts, and follow up on outstanding accounts.
• Invoice Creation & Reconciliation: Generate accurate invoices, match payments, and reconcile financial records.
• Payroll Assistance: Compile payroll data and timesheets, assist in preparing summaries, and support payroll processing.
• BAS Preparation Support: Work closely with accountants to prepare documentation and financial records for BAS submission.
• Financial Record Management: Maintain organized and confidential financial files and documentation.
• Client Communication: Handle financial queries and updates with professionalism and discretion.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Proven experience in bookkeeping or a finance-related role, preferably in a virtual or remote setting.
• Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar accounting tools.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reconciliation.
• Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Reliable internet connection and a conducive work-from-home setup.
