Watershed Management Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Watershed Management Specialist to join our passionate team at ASIAN FILIPINO (ASFIL) ENGINEERING DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION CO.'. In this full-time position based in Manila City, Metro Manila, you will play a crucial role in managing and preserving the watersheds under our care.

What you'll be doing

• Develop and implement comprehensive watershed management plans to ensure the long-term sustainability of our water resources
• Conduct regular assessments and monitoring of watershed health, water quality, and ecosystem integrity
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, and environmental organizations, to coordinate watershed conservation efforts
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on best practices for watershed restoration, erosion control, and sustainable land use
• Identify and secure funding opportunities to support watershed management projects
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management
• Mentor and train junior team members on watershed management principles and techniques

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
• with at least 7 years of professional experience in the field of water resource planning, FS, Preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement, with actual experience in watershed assessment and preparation of watershed management plans.
• Strong knowledge of hydrology, soil science, and ecosystem dynamics, particularly in the context of tropical watersheds
• Proficiency in data analysis, GIS, and remote sensing technologies to support decision-making and monitoring
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse groups
• Demonstrated project management experience, including the ability to develop and implement comprehensive work plans
• Passion for environmental conservation and a commitment to sustainable development
