RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists the Head Buyer in order request, replenishment coordination and allocation.
  • Perform operational functions supporting the Head Buyer to achieve sales, margin, and inventory plans.
  • Independently identify priorities and proactively work to achieve efficiency in purchase order writing and product shipping.
  • Assists in reviewing the shipping status of all products with Head Buyer and effectively navigate the supply chain.
  • Maintain communication with suppliers and internal teams to ensure on-time shipments.
  • Assists in monitoring and maintaining the display and organization of Japanese books to ensure accurate placement and visual appeal.
  • Prepares and submits weekly and monthly sales reports for the assigned category, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Applies proficiency in both Japanese and English to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience of at least 1-2 years in an Assistant Buyer role or similar purchasing function.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and Japanese (JLPT N2 level).
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed purchasing decisions based on market trends.
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to manage complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with both internal teams and external partners.
