About the Role

We are seeking an experienced freelance/consultant Media Buyer to lead our paid media strategy across all major platforms (TikTok, Facebook/Meta, Google Ads, YouTube, etc.). In this hybrid role, you will spend most days remote and collaborate in-person in our Makati office twice a month. You'll be responsible not only for media buying but for shaping holistic marketing campaigns. This includes developing
TikTok-first
creative strategies that work natively on each platform, and aligning them with direct-response approaches and customer awareness stages. The ideal candidate has a proven track record driving results for e-commerce and startup brands, using data-driven tactics to optimize ad exposure and manage budgets for maximum impact.

Responsibilities

  • Media Strategy & Buying:
    Plan, execute, and optimize paid campaigns across major digital channels (Facebook/Instagram, Google Search & Display, TikTok, YouTube, etc.) to reach target audiences cost-effectively.
  • Creative Collaboration:
    Lead
    creative-first
    campaign development (especially TikTok-native ads) by partnering with designers and copywriters, ensuring ads are engaging, native to each platform, and aligned with campaign goals.
  • Budget & Negotiation:
    Negotiate ad buys and placement rates with platforms/agencies. Manage and reallocate media budgets to maximize ROI, continuously monitoring spend and performance to optimize media mix.
  • Direct-Response Campaigns:
    Design and implement direct-response marketing campaigns with clear calls to action. Tailor messaging for each stage of customer awareness (unaware, problem-aware, solution-aware, etc.) to move prospects through the funnel.
  • Analytics & Optimization:
    Track and analyze campaign performance using data and platform analytics. Conduct A/B tests on creatives, audiences, and bidding strategies. Use insights from real-time metrics to refine targeting and creative.
  • Reporting:
    Prepare regular performance reports on key KPIs (CTR, CPA, ROAS, etc.) and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Cross-Channel Integration:
    Work as a full-rounded marketer — support broader marketing initiatives beyond paid ads, including coordinating with email, SEO, and content teams to maintain consistent messaging.
  • Team Leadership:
    Mentor junior media buyers or marketing staff as needed, sharing expertise in media buying best practices and emerging trends.

Requirements

  • Experience:
    5+ years of performance marketing or media buying experience in a senior role, with a focus on digital media. Proven success driving ROI for e-commerce and startup brands (experience with high-growth or online retail businesses preferred).
  • Platform Expertise:
    Hands-on expertise with all major advertising platforms (Facebook/Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, TikTok Ads, YouTube, etc.). Able to set up, launch, and manage campaigns end-to-end.
  • Creative Strategy:
    Strong background in creative marketing and ad formats. Demonstrated ability to develop
    TikTok-first
    content strategies that produce results.
  • Direct Response & Funnel Marketing:
    Deep understanding of direct-response marketing principles. Familiarity with customer awareness frameworks (such as Eugene Schwartz's 5 Stages of Awareness) to guide messaging and targeting.
  • Analytical Skills:
    Data-driven mindset with proficiency in campaign analytics. Comfort using ad analytics dashboards and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Business Manager insights). Strong ability to interpret data and make optimization decisions.
  • Budget Management:
    Experience managing substantial media budgets. Skilled at negotiating and adjusting budgets across channels to maximize returns.
  • Communication:
    Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Able to present campaign plans and results clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration:
    Proven ability to work cross-functionally with creative, content, and marketing teams to integrate media efforts with overall strategy.
  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with lifecycle or funnel marketing strategies (beyond top-of-funnel), such as retention campaigns or email remarketing.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation tools or CRM platforms.
  • Certifications (or strong experience) in Google Ads, Facebook Blueprint, TikTok for Business, etc.
  • Agile startup experience or comfort in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Any additional strengths like copywriting, graphic design, or video production skills.
