Responsibilities:

  • To handle a wide range of IP issues, including infringement matters and to deal with authorities for enforcement action, as well as commercial matters
  • Advocate in hearings in civil matters to present the case to the highest standards
  • To have good understanding of IP issues
  • Conducting legal research; finding laws or similar court decision related to pending cases; interpreting laws or legislation
  • Client management and team management, namely communicating directly with clients, understanding their problems/requests, advising on strategies / solutions, implementing the strategy, once agreed with the client
  • Supervising the team (secretary and paralegal) to deliver the work

Qualification & Qualities:

  • Licensed Lawyer (Philippine Bar)
  • Preferably with experience in Intellectual Property and commercial field
  • Solid background and experience in litigation and commercial
  • A Registered IP Consultant is an advantage
  • Specialist knowledge of all aspects of Philippine IP Law and commercial law - some knowledge of international IP law would be an added value
  • Have experience in drafting agreements, licenses and assignments, dealing with complex IP issues, disputes and commercial matters
  • Have strong analytical skills and a good communicator, with experience of building relationships across a range of people and within a team
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity and management skills are essential
