Overview:

The Data Engineer will play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making by designing, developing, and maintaining modern data solutions for JTI Philippines. This role involves hands-on development, technical solutioning, stakeholder collaboration, and cloud-based architecture delivery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in enterprise data environments and can work independently while also collaborating within cross-functional teams.

This role is open to both mid-level (10+ years) and senior-level (15+ years) professionals, with responsibilities and leadership expectations adjusted accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows using Azure Data Factory, Python, SSIS, and other modern tools.
  • Deliver and support Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and Data Lakehouse solutions in a cloud-based environment.
  • Develop and manage ad-hoc reporting and build Power BI dashboards to support business analytics.
  • Maintain and optimize existing data pipelines, stored procedures, queries, and reporting assets.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including ERDs, business/technical requirement documents, data mapping specs, etc.
  • For Senior-level candidates:
  • Lead architecture discussions and own the end-to-end design of enterprise-level data solutions.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level data engineers.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders and drive alignment on data strategy.
  • Recommend and introduce modern data practices (e.g., Data Mesh, Data Fabric, AI/ML readiness).

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Mid-Level: Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, ETL development, or similar roles.
  • Senior-Level: Minimum 15 years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Architecture, with proven leadership in enterprise-scale projects.

Technical Skills (Required):

  • Strong expertise in Azure Data Factory; experience with AWS Glue, GCP Data Fusion, or similar cloud ETL tools is a plus.
  • Proficient in Python for data analytics and processing.
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS and GCP also considered).
  • Experience working in enterprise data environments (Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Lakehouse).
  • Strong knowledge in modern data architecture, data modeling, and data governance.
  • Proficiency in Power BI or equivalent BI/reporting tools.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective in stakeholder management across business and technical teams.
  • Can work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to or understanding of Machine Learning or AI-driven data platforms.
  • Experience with data platform architecture, data cataloging, and security best practices.

Pay: Php100, Php180,000.00 per month
