We are looking for a Procurement Officer (Import-Export) who will handle purchasing activities, with a focus on sourcing products from China and managing import and export processes. The role involves identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating costs, ensuring compliance with customs and trade regulations, and maintaining an efficient supply of saleable products for the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate suppliers in China and other markets for saleable products.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with international suppliers.
- Manage the end-to-end import and export process, including documentation, customs clearance, and shipping coordination.
- Ensure compliance with international trade laws, import/export regulations, and company policies.
- Monitor and analyze product trends to recommend new items for retail.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier contracts, and product information.
- Work closely with the Sales Department to forecast product demand and align procurement activities.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely product delivery and inventory availability.
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain long-term supplier relationships.
- Handle administrative tasks such as purchase orders, invoices, and payment follow-ups.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or import/export operations (preferably in retail or consumer goods).
- Familiarity with sourcing products from China and dealing with Chinese suppliers.
- Knowledge of customs procedures, shipping documentation, and import/export regulations.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and purchasing systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple suppliers and orders simultaneously.
