Join the dynamic Corporate and Compliance team at Far Eastern University (FEU) as a Corporate and Compliance Lawyer. In this full-time position based in Manila City Metro Manila, you will play a key role in providing legal expertise and ensuring regulatory and legal compliance across the organization. With your strong background in corporate law, you will be instrumental in supporting the university's strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations.

What you'll be doing

  1. Oversee corporate governance and compliance matters in support of the university's Corporate Secretary and Compliance Officer;
  2. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and legal documents;
  3. Provide advise regarding regulatory, governance, corporate, and commercial matters related to the university's operations and strategic plans;
  4. Support investments, tenders and new business opportunities
  5. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies;
  6. Assist the risk management, finance, and internal audit teams;
  7. Contribute to the development and maintenance of corporate and compliance resources, tools and training; and
  8. Provide high-quality, pragmatic legal advice to and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization,

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in corporate law, compliance regulation preferably gained within a large law firm or in-house legal team;
  2. Must be a graduate of JD and a license holder;
  3. Demonstrated expertise in areas such as commercial matters and regulatory compliance;
  4. Ability to provide commercially focused, trusted legal advice to both operational staff and senior stakeholders;
  5. Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team;
  6. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills;
  7. Proficient in legal writing, document drafting, and legal research; and
  8. Passion for the education sector and a commitment to supporting the university's mission and vision.
