The Finance Specialist is responsible for managing the accounts payable and disbursement processes to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payments to vendors, suppliers, and employees. This role plays a critical part in maintaining strong financial controls, supporting manufacturing operations, and safeguarding company cash flow.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable Management

  • Process, verify, and record vendor invoices in compliance with company policies.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitor aging reports and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.

Disbursement Oversight

  • Prepare and execute payments (checks, electronic transfers, payroll disbursements).
  • Ensure payments are made within agreed credit terms to maintain supplier relationships.
  • Reconcile disbursement accounts and maintain accurate records.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure adherence to internal financial policies, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to prevent fraud and errors.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Generate regular reports on payables, cash disbursements, and vendor balances.
  • Provide insights on payment trends, cash flow impacts, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting related to payables and disbursements.

Collaboration

  • Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse and end-users to resolve invoice/payment issues.
  • Liaise with banks and financial institutions for payment processing.
  • Support finance leadership in strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in accounts payable or disbursement, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, ERP systems (Infor Syteline), and MS Excel application.
  • Familiarity with tax compliance and local regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
