ROLE OVERVIEW

About the Client: The client is a reputable law firm specializing in insurance defense, representing insurance companies in complex litigation matters. With a team of experienced attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants, the firm is committed to delivering strategic legal solutions while maintaining efficiency and precision. Dedicated to scaling its operations, the client seeks to enhance its support team by hiring skilled virtual legal professionals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Review and edit Attorney and Paralegal Time entries
  • Manage carrier/client contact information
  • Manage cost shares on split bill clients
  • Resolve invoicing discrepancies
  • Use firm software to prepare and send invoices
  • Knowledge of legal jargon
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills ensuring
  • Compliance with billing guidelines.

Other

  • Perform other duties as assigned, such as assisting with
  • Other accounting related tasks

Accounts Receivable

  • Invoice Management
  • Manage invoice payments to the firm from multiple entities
  • Post payments to client ledgers via Juris.
  • Follow up with clients on overdue invoices

Expense Entry

  • Manage vendor invoices related to client files

Software Proficiency

  • Utilize accounting and firm software Outlook, Excel and Juris

Other

  • Perform other duties as assigned, such as assisting with special projects or other accounting tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2+ years of accounts receivable experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in Accounting or finance is a plus.

  • Attention to detail, organizational skills ensuring compliance with financial policies.
  • Technological proficiency, particularly with legal billing software.
  • The ability to negotiate and build relationships, strong interpersonal skills, along with a proactive approach to managing receivables.

  • The role requires problem-solving, ability to maintain confidentiality, time management, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment .
  • Understanding of accounting principles and the knowledge of legal accounting standards is also relevant.
