Role Summary

We are looking for a Dispatcher to play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our organization. You will be responsible for coordinating and managing the scheduling and dispatching of resources, including vehicles, equipment, and personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive delivery requests and accurately record significant information.
  • Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing appropriate solutions.
  • Receive and dispatch orders for products or deliveries.
  • Prioritize deliveries based on urgency and importance.
  • Use phone or computer systems to assign drivers, vehicles, or field units to appropriate locations.
  • Monitor driver routes and status to ensure efficient scheduling and prioritization.
  • Provide drivers with essential information regarding orders, traffic conditions, obstacles, and requirements.
  • Enter data into the system and maintain accurate logs and records of calls, activities, and other relevant information.
  • Develop and optimize delivery routes while maintaining communication with drivers throughout the day.
  • Collaborate with management to modify daily routes based on customer needs.
  • Act as a communication liaison by answering incoming calls from drivers on the road.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers and customers to minimize disruptions caused by last-minute schedule changes.
  • Monitor sudden route changes or road construction issues and work with drivers to establish new routes for timely deliveries.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Dispatcher or in a similar role.
  • Proven experience in dispatch operations or a relevant position.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office and G Suite applications.
  • Strong typing skills with experience in data entry.
  • Familiarity with procedures and guidelines for emergency situations.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong judgment and critical thinking skills.
