Summary:

  • The Project Designer contributes to the build of the brand's beautiful retail spaces by collaborating on design, managing timelines, and coordinating with business development, engineering, and operations teams. He/she produces design plans and renders from schematic to construction phase and ensures the design meets the appropriate quality standards upon turnover.

Job Description:

Retail Design and Development

  • Formulate and research designs that are practical and conducive to intended purpose.
  • Innovate cohesive design for eyewear, cosmetic and lifestyle brands.
  • Explore designs that are on trend and aligns with the brand aesthetic.
  • Develop custom furniture and decorative objects for store and HQ.
  • Produce drawings and documentation for actual work to be carried out.
  • Spur creativity within the team and give effective feedback and design solutions.
  • Challenge retail design formulations with international standards.

Retail Project Supervision

  • Support the retail design manager in ensuring work delegations are completed within time expectations.
  • Coordinate with retail operations team to align needs for new stores and make sure design is operationally feasible and according to standards.
  • Ensure timely and satisfactory completion of works by third party suppliers.
  • Regulate design processes efficiently by providing complete and detailed assets.
  • Conduct project updates and relevant concerns to design manager and other departments.
  • Establish guidelines to suppliers and contractors for faster approval and prototyping.
  • Source and coordinate quotations for approval and compiling options for recommendation.
  • Provide analysis of store rectification and store re-design requirement

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Engage in creative collaboration and discussion within the Marketing and Creatives Team
  • Initiate on giving effective design ideas and solutions in improving brand aesthetics in store.
  • Support other creatives in producing assets for product development, graphic and online content

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture
  • Minimum of 3 years in delivering interior design or architectural projects
  • Exposed to multi-disciplinary creative industry – Interior and Architecture, Graphics and Branding, Photography and Videography
  • Highly proficient in design programs: AutoCad, SketchUp, Vray, Photoshop, Lumion, After Effects
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding in design technicalities, standards, and fit outs.
  • Excellent site and production supervision with industry workers.
  • Hands-on designer and independent performer that knows how to take initiative
  • Proficient in Keynote, Office Powerpoint or other similar presentation tools
  • Impeccable attention to detail and insistence on quality
  • Flexibility to travel to support project tasks if/when required
