Financial Analyst

This is a remote position.

Role Scope:

A multi-disciplinary position covering Finance, HR, Legal, and IT operations to build scalable systems and ensure compliance as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Finance Operations: Manage complex billing, revenue recognition, financial reporting, forecasting, variance analysis, AR/AP, collections, audits, and compliance.

2. Billing & Revenue: Manage complex billing (multi-tier pricing, contracts, subscriptions), ensure accurate revenue recognition (ASC 606), and analyze contracts.

3. Reporting & Analysis: Prepare executive financial reports, develop KPIs, conduct variance analysis, and lead forecasting/budgeting.
4. Accounts Management: Oversee AR/AP, vendor payments, collections strategies, and optimize cash flow.

5. Audit & Compliance: Implement internal controls, support audits, and ensure compliance with accounting standards, SOX, and company policies.

6. HR Support: Lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance management initiatives.

7. Talent Acquisition and Development Hiring Leadership: Own recruitment efforts for open positions, including job posting development, candidate screening, and interview coordination.

8. Onboarding Program: Design and oversee onboarding programs for new team members

9. Performance Management: Support HR initiatives related to employee performance tracking and development

10. Legal Coordination: Oversee compliance, contract review, policy development, and risk management.

Compliance Management

• Regulatory Compliance: Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations affecting revenue recognition and billing practices

• Contract Compliance: Ensure all billing practices comply with contractual obligations and regulatory guidelines

• Policy Coordination: Coordinate with legal counsel and management to develop and maintain company policies and procedures

Legal Coordination

• Contract Review: Support contract review processes and coordinate with legal teams on client agreements
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal and financial risks in billing and operational processes

• Documentation Management: Maintain proper documentation for legal and compliance purposes

• IT Systems: Optimize billing systems, support integrations, and manage technology implementations.

• Billing Systems Oversight: Lead the optimization and maintenance of billing systems, coordinating with IT on system upgrades and implementations

• Technology Integration: Evaluate and recommend billing software, automation tools, and integration opportunities
• System Implementation: Lead or support major system implementations, upgrades, or integrations affecting billing operations

Ideal Candidate:

Detail-oriented finance professional comfortable wearing multiple hats, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and driving process improvements in a high-growth, remote environment.

Required:

• Strong knowledge of accounting (AR/AP, financial reporting, planning, analysis)

• Understanding of audits and compliance requirements

• Proficiency in Excel and analytical tools

• Excellent problem-solving, accuracy, and attention to detail

• Team-oriented, adaptable, motivated, and aligned with company values (ownership, drive, adaptability, continuous improvement)

Preferred:

• 1+ year billing/finance experience (service-based or digital agency)

• Familiarity with Zoho Books/Analytics/One

• Background in HR and talent management

• Knowledge of legal compliance and contracts

• IT systems integration/implementation experience

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, modeling)

• Experience with subscription billing/recurring revenue/payment processors

• Willing to work full time, CST Time
