WHAT IS A/AN DATA ANALYST?

The Data Analyst role is responsible for managing and maintaining the Centre's visualisation and analytics platforms, with a primary focus on Grafana dashboards and reporting tools. This role ensures service desk requests related to Grafana are actioned promptly, hot fixes are applied when needed, and new dashboards are developed to support operational and maintenance needs. Secondary to visualisation, the role involves performing data analysis outside Grafana using tools such as Python or other analytics programming languages. This role is suited for candidates with a foundation in data analytics and a strong interest in visualisation systems.

WHAT WILL BE YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES?

Grafana Visualisation & Dashboard Management:

  • Monitor and respond to service desk requests related to Grafana dashboards.

  • Conduct hot fixes and adjustments to existing dashboards and reports.

  • Build new Grafana dashboards from scratch, ensuring usability and accuracy.

· Data Analytics & Reporting:

  • Extract and analyse data outside Grafana using Python or other analytics-focused programming languages.

  • Support the preparation of customised analytics reports and visualisations.

  • Assist in identifying trends and insights to support machine health monitoring.

· Collaboration & Support:

  • Work closely with remote monitoring specialists, maintenance teams, and IT support.

  • Ensure data visualisations align with operational and reporting requirements.

  • Provide technical assistance for visualisation-related queries from the team.

· Documentation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Maintain clear documentation of dashboard configurations and changes.

  • Contribute to process improvements in visualisation and reporting practices.

  • Stay updated with best practices in data visualisation and analytics tools.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

· Timely response and resolution of service desk requests related to dashboards.

· Accuracy and reliability of Grafana dashboards and reports.

· Quality of analytics insights delivered to support operational decisions.

· Contribution to continuous improvement in visualisation and reporting workflows.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

· Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

· Experience with visualisation tools (Grafana or similar).

· Knowledge of analytics programming languages (Python, R, or SQL preferred).

· Familiarity with data analysis and reporting in technical or operational environments is an advantage.
