MEAT RETAIL AREA MANAGER

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and oversee organizational set up that is suited to the unique requirements of the area being managed, and to anticipate expansions and projected major developments.
  • Maximize profitability by effectively managing wages, controlling expenses, budgeting allocation and ensuring employees are coached to exceed sales and KPI targets.
  • Stock control: responsible for ordering, presentation, merchandising and promotions.
  • Lead, recruit, induct, train, supervise and develop employees within the area.
  • Regularly manage report of the financial actual versus budget results.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and ensure, at all times, that the company is positively promoted.
  • Package and display meat; prepare a variety of package sizes and portions; prepare specialty orders by responding to customer requests, etc; is responsible for equipment lay-out and management,
  • Know how to use specialized equipment, i.e. bandsaw, knife, meat slicer, meat grinder, personal protective equipment, and ensure equipment operate correctly.
  • Maintain a hygienically clean and safe working environment by adhering to HACCP policies and procedures, monitoring of products and recording of results.

QUALIFICATION

Graduate of Business Management/Retail Operations.

Three to five years of hands-on meat officer/butcher experience in a high volume food service.

High levels of competency in the management of KPIs, Profit and Loss and Sales Figures.

General computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft applications (word, excel, powerpoint,

outlook, etc).
