Overview

The Decision Science team acts as a central hub for asking analysis questions. We are a small team of developers and consultants who believe in impact driven work. We believe in democratization of data and are major supporters of knowledge distribution to empower the company. We don't shy away from getting our hands dirty whenever it comes to anything data and we demand critical and collaborative debate when tackling problems.

Duties and Responsibilities

As an integral member of our Decision Science team, the Data Coach is responsible for the design, development, implementation and support of mission-critical enterprise dashboards. You will also guide and mentor key individuals, teams, and possibly entire departments in the proper use of data by sharing best practices in analysis, standardizing metric measurement across the firm, and acting as a consultant to solving complex questions. 

In addition, the Data Coach is responsible for:

  • Conducting high quality analysis to generate insights useful for business
  • Working with partner teams to define goals and identify metrics to improve processes
  • Building dashboards and reports to drive awareness and understanding of metrics
  • Working closely with Data Engineering and partner teams to author and develop core data sets, within our Data Warehouse and BI tool, to empower operational and exploratory analyses

Skills and Experience

  • Proven working experience as a data analyst or business analyst in a startup environment.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting tools (Sisense, Tableau, etc), databases (SQL,  etc)
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Python preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Project management experience, preferably as a scrum master.
