Job Title: Call Center Pharmacist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Call Center Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting patients with medication-related concerns, providing counseling on proper medication use, and ensuring optimal therapy outcomes. You will also collaborate with healthcare providers, including physicians and hospitals, to improve patient care and resolve complex medication issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer patient inquiries regarding prescription medications, including questions about dosage, frequency, potential drug interactions, and any special medication requirements. Offer advice on proper medication administration and work with patients to resolve concerns.
  • Conduct comprehensive medication reviews for patients not adhering to prescribed therapies. Assess their medication regimen and provide personalized recommendations to improve compliance, including educational support, cognitive impairment evaluations, adverse drug event assessments, and medication refills.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and pharmacies. Provide feedback on patient care and treatment plans, collaborate on clinical decisions, and ensure continuity of care.
  • Review and assess prior authorization requests using clinical criteria and established treatment protocols. Work closely with relevant stakeholders to facilitate approvals and streamline processes.
  • Collaborate with the call center team to improve operational workflows, offer insights on customer relations, and assist in refining pharmacy operations. Provide recommendations to management to enhance the center's efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor and document any adverse drug reactions or events, ensuring accurate and timely reporting as part of the safety protocol.

Qualifications:

  • Active pharmacist license in good standing.
  • Strong clinical knowledge of medications, drug interactions, and therapeutic management.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex medical concepts to patients in an easily understandable manner.
  • Experience working with prior authorizations and medication therapy management is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
