Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist to join our growing Data Office team. This role involves uncovering valuable insights from complex datasets, building predictive models, and driving data-informed decisions across the business. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to design innovative solutions that enhance products, services, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze large, structured, and unstructured datasets to identify trends and actionable insights.
- Design and implement statistical models, algorithms, and machine learning solutions.
- Work closely with stakeholders to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions.
- Build and deploy predictive models to optimize business processes and improve customer experience.
- Conduct experiments, evaluate model performance, and validate assumptions.
- Clearly communicate complex analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stay updated with industry advancements in AI, ML, and data science technologies.
- Support integration of data science solutions into broader systems and business processes.
- Mentor junior data scientists and foster continuous learning within the team.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Python for statistical analysis and machine learning
- In-depth knowledge of statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and experimental design
- Hands-on experience with machine learning techniques: classification, regression, clustering, recommendation systems
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases and data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake)
- Skilled in data visualization using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools
- Experience in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and dimensionality reduction
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an agile environment
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally Azure and Databricks
Desirable Skills
- Experience in natural language processing (NLP) and text analytics
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Knowledge of causal inference, optimization techniques, and operations research
- Understanding of data governance and privacy frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
- Hands-on experience with Azure services: Azure Storage, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure ML
- Knowledge of serverless architectures and cloud-based data processing
- Awareness of cloud security and data protection best practices
