Senior Software Development Manager

The
Senior Software Development Manager
is responsible for overseeing and guiding software

development projects to ensure they meet organization goals and client expectations. He/She typically involves managing a team of developers, coordinating resources, and

aligning the technical and business aspects of software projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or its equivalent; A Master's Degree is a plus
• 5-10 years of hands-on experience in software development, preferably with full-stack exposure or expertise in specific technologies
• Demonstrated experience working with various programming languages, development frameworks, and databases (e.g., .Net Core, Java, Python, JavaScript, , SQL, etc.)
• 2-5 years of experience in a leadership role, managing or mentoring development teams, including recruiting, performance evaluation, and career development.
• Proven track record of leading development teams to deliver successful software products
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies or other project management frameworks
• Experience with DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms like

AWS/Azure, and containerization tools like Docker)

• Proven experience in code reviews, system design, and ensuring adherence to

coding standards

• Experience working with product management, UX/UI teams, and business

stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions

Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership and Management

2. Lead, manage, and mentor a team of developers, ensuring they have the resources and support to succeed

3. Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify professional development opportunities

4. Facilitate communication between team members, ensuring that they collaborate effectively and meet project deadlines

5. Project Planning and Execution

6. Collaborate with stakeholders (product owners, business analysts, etc.) to define project goals, scope, timelines, and deliverables

7. Create and manage project plans, setting realistic deadlines and milestones
8. Allocate resources effectively, ensuring that team members have the time and tools needed to complete tasks efficiently

9. Monitor progress and adjust plans as necessary, resolving bottlenecks and delays to keep the project on track

10. Software Architecture and Development Oversight

11. Oversee software design and architecture decisions, ensuring that they align with business needs and technical best practices

12. Review and approve technical specifications, ensuring they are clear, comprehensive, and feasible
13. Conduct code reviews to maintain high standards of software quality and performance

14. Ensure compliance with security protocols, scalability, and maintainability of software solutions

15. Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration

16. Act as the primary point of contact between the development team and other departments/divisions, such as Systems Analyst and Support, and upper management

17. Provide regular updates to the IT Director and/or stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and changes in scope
18. Translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure that development aligns with the business strategy

19. Address concerns from stakeholders, ensuring that any feedback is incorporated into the development process

20. Process Improvement and Innovation

21. Implement and refine development processes, such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban, to improve team efficiency and project delivery

22. Identify areas for improvement in the development lifecycle, such as automation, testing, and deployment
23. Encourage innovation within the team by staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies
24. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, where team members are encouraged to suggest processes or technical enhancements
