Your Role:
As a Senior SDET focused on Tools and Reporting, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the quality engineering ecosystem of our client. You will lead the design, development, and evolution of scalable testing tools, quality gates, and reporting frameworks that empower development teams to deliver high-quality software efficiently. Your work will directly influence engineering velocity, test reliability, and visibility into software quality across the organization

• Own and evolve the test tooling ecosystem: Lead the development, integration, and maintenance of internal testing tools (including performance/load testing platforms), ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and aligned with modern engineering practices.
• Architect and optimize the test toolchain: Continuously assess and improve the test infrastructure to support growing engineering needs. Recommend and implement new tools or upgrades based on emerging technologies and team feedback.
• Establish and scale test automation practices: Define and implement test automation strategies and frameworks across teams, ensuring consistency, maintainability, and alignment with business goals.
• Design and automate quality reporting frameworks: Build robust reporting systems that capture key testing metrics (e.g., coverage, flakiness, performance trends) and deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Deliver real-time visibility into quality: Create dynamic dashboards and visualizations that provide transparency into test execution, pipeline health, and overall software quality.
• Integrate quality gates into CI/CD pipelines: Collaborate with development teams to embed automated quality checks (unit tests, code coverage, performance benchmarks, etc.) into CI/CD workflows, ensuring consistent enforcement of quality standards.
• Champion SDLC-wide quality integration: Partner with developers, QA, and DevOps to embed quality practices throughout the software lifecycle—from planning to release.
• Enable engineering teams: Act as a quality enabler by helping teams set up test environments, run performance/load tests, analyze test coverage, and onboard to internal tools and frameworks.
• Drive JIRA-based quality tracking: Ensure quality-related tasks, issues, and test results are traceable and visible across the SDLC using JIRA and other collaboration tools.
• Document and evangelize best practices: Maintain comprehensive documentation for testing tools, pipelines, and reporting systems. Promote adoption through training and knowledge sharing.

What You Need:
Non-negotiable

• 5+ years of experience in a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) role, with a strong focus on test tooling, automation, and reporting in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
• Proven experience in establishing test automation frameworks and strategies, including selection, implementation, and scaling across multiple teams and projects.
• Advanced proficiency in programming (Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar) and experience building scalable test automation solutions.
• Cloud testing experience (preferably Azure) includes environment provisioning, test orchestration, and monitoring. (non-negotiable - experience with one of the cloud providers)

Non-negotiable - at least one tool from the list:

• Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Rest Assured, Supertest, and Postman, with a strong understanding of RESTful service validation and contract testing.
• Deep expertise in test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, JUnit, and Rest Assured, and performance tools like JMeter, Gatling, or LoadRunner.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and integrating quality gates into build pipelines.

Nice To Have

• Strong background in reporting and visualization tools (Grafana, Kibana, or similar) with the ability to translate raw test data into meaningful insights. (nice to have)

• Proven ability to design and implement quality reporting frameworks that support data-driven decision-making.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and advocate for quality engineering practices.
