A Little About Us

Höegh Autoliners is a global leader in Ro/Ro deep sea transportation services. The company owns and operates approx. 50 Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs) in global trade systems, making around 3 000 port calls yearly. Managed from a worldwide network of around 20 offices, our main customers are major manufacturers of new cars, heavy machinery and other rolling stock. Höegh Autoliners is also a leading carrier of second-hand vehicles.

You are someone who is passionate about procurement processing. You enjoy preparing reports, perform analyses to maintain quality standards, and coordinating with existing and external suppliers. You have a good knowledge in purchasing acticvities, and you have the ability to multitask and priositize tasks. You are comfortable in negotiation, and dare to take risks. You see yourself as a key contributor to our culture.

Main Responsibilities

  • Monitors requirements using procurement system and maintains accurate information such as purchase quantities and proces, delivery dates, lead times, etc.
  • Sourcing of commodity from global shipping market
  • Perform comparative analysis to ensure best price while maintaining quality standards
  • Place purchase orders for goods that have standard costs and quoted discounts already in place (Stores, Spares & Services, LO, etc.)
  • Follow up on orders, coordinate purchasing quality and on-time deliveries
  • Explore alternate sources for goods and materials, and evaluate existing and new suppliers
  • Coordinates with Technical Team and vessel crew for matters concerning ship requests
  • Execute purchasing requirements as established by global purchasing department of parent company.
  • Coordinate purchasing activities with other departments as necessary

Minimum Qualifications

  • Have experience working as a Purchaser in the shipping industry for a minimum of 3 years
  • Have noted expertise in the procurement field
  • With excellent communication skills in an international environment
  • High level of integrity
  • With strong negotiation, technical and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
