Purchasing Buyer

Job Description: The Purchasing Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing products, supplies, and materials to support the company's operations and product launches. This role ensures that all purchases are made at the best possible price, quality, and lead time while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and ensuring compliance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase raw materials, finished goods, and supplies required for distribution and operations.
  • Evaluate suppliers, request quotations, and negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock for product launches and daily operations.
  • Work closely with the warehouse and logistics team to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve supply issues.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders (POs), invoices, and related procurement documents.
  • Track supplier performance, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and compliance with agreements.
  • Research and identify new suppliers, products, or materials that can improve cost efficiency or quality.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, price histories, and supplier databases.
  • Assist in forecasting purchasing needs based on sales trends and upcoming product launches.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.

Experience

  • 2–4 years of experience as a Purchasing Buyer, Procurement Specialist, or Supply Chain Assistant (experience in FMCG, retail, or distribution is an advantage).
  • Background in sourcing or purchasing consumer products preferred.

Skills

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and basic supply chain principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Purchasing Assistant/ Buyer

Job Description: Performs technical purchasing activities such as sourcing, market research, supplier evaluation/accreditation, supplier relationship development, continuous improvement, and negotiates with external suppliers/service providers.

Responsibilities: Responsible for the purchase of technical goods and services such as forklift, cars, trucks, weighing scale, inkjet printer, etc.

Work Experience

Project and Contracts Management

  • Documentation for purchasing processes and supplier contracts; project management support; basic supply chain concepts; computer literacy; ERP experience.
