The Scrum Master organizes and guides teams through the delivery of key projects for IT segment. S/He works directly in a squad to advise and oversee performance against agile values, practices and processes. Working with the IT and Business owners for important products and services, S/He supports the work of the squad by maintaining task backlogs and by facilitating Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. The Scrum Master also monitors teams performance through the squad's dashboard and helps to identify continuous improvement opportunities to help the team work better and smarter.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

List, in order of importance, the five to six essential functions, key activities and decision-making areas of the job. It may help to specify the typical target(s) and how success will be measured for each activity.

  • Researches and analyzes improvement opportunities; Conducts analysis, prepares recommendations, and facilitates efficiency enhancements
  • Develops business requirement documents and specifications as part of a team of System Analysts.
  • Works as directed by management team to research and document business issues involving workflow procedures and processes
  • Analyzes data and works with management to develop creative solutions; Breaks down, decomposes and describes business needs into stories supporting an iterative and incremental delivery model
  • Communicates and negotiates effectively with the business to clarify needs vs. wants/likes in order to balance business direction/requirements with cost of development as well as risks
  • Supports a positive and collaborative digital delivery culture with a philosophy of continuous improvement, development, innovation and excellence, while remaining in compliance with the bank's policies and procedures and upholding the highest standards of professional conduct.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Years of Work Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software development or IT project management is required

Educational Attainment/ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related

Required/Preferred Certification/Professional License (if applicable):

  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • Six Sigma, PMP or PRINCE2 Project management certification
  • Business Analysis Professional certification like CBAP

Field of Specialization (if applicable):

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and Scrum framework
  • Ability to facilitate and lead Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-up, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.)
  • Good understanding of project management and experience in managing cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Knowledge of project management tools (JIRA, Trello, etc.)
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and tools
  • Knowledge of banking systems and regulations
