The Room Attendant/Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and presentation of guest rooms and all public areas of the hotel. The role ensures that guests experience a comfortable, safe, and welcoming environment throughout their stay.

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Room Cleaning

  • Clean and arrange guest rooms according to hotel standards.
  • Make beds, change linens, replace towels, and replenish amenities.
  • Dust, vacuum, and sanitize furniture and surfaces.
  • Clean bathrooms, including showers, toilets, sinks, and mirrors.
  • Check and report any maintenance issues or damages.
  • Ensure all rooms meet the hotel's quality and hygiene requirements.

Public Area Cleaning

  • Clean and maintain lobbies, corridors, elevators, staircases, lounges, and restrooms.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors in common areas.
  • Dust furniture, fixtures, and décor in public spaces.
  • Replace supplies in guest-accessible restrooms (hand towels, soap, toilet paper).
  • Maintain the cleanliness of entrance areas, glass doors, and windows.

Guest Service

  • Greet guests politely and assist with simple questions or directions.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests or report them to supervisors.
  • Handle lost-and-found items according to hotel policies.

Safety & Hygiene

  • Follow hotel and health department cleaning standards and procedures.
  • Use cleaning chemicals safely and store them correctly.
  • Report hazards, spills, or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Follow proper key control procedures and room security guidelines.

Teamwork & Operations

  • Coordinate with the housekeeping team for room assignments and updates.
  • Ensure housekeeping carts are clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Attend briefings and follow directions from supervisors.
  • Assist with laundry or deep-cleaning tasks when required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduated of BS in Hospitality Management or Hotel & Restaurant Management.
  • Previous housekeeping experience is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
