We are looking for a Senior General Ledger (GL) Accountant to join our finance team remotely from Manila. This role will be responsible for overseeing general ledger reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements.

Job Overview

The Senior GL Accountant will play a key role in managing financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries while ensuring compliance with IFRS and US GAAP. This role requires collaboration with the US-based and European-based accounting teams, resulting in working hours from 10 PM to 6 AM (night shift) for two weeks at month-end. Outside of month-end, the working hours can be from 2 PM to 10 PM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee GL accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.

  • Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.

  • Perform detailed balance sheet account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

  • Prepare variance analysis and financial commentary to provide insights into financial results.

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and company accounting policies.

  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required schedules, reports, and documentation.

  • Collaborate with the US finance team, ensuring seamless financial reporting and alignment of accounting standards.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 4 years of experience in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, or similar roles.

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end close activities.

  • Expert knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards.

  • Experience using ERP accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling, and reconciliation formulas).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with the US-based team.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage multiple priorities.

  • Experience working night shifts or willingness to work during US business hours.
