The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the company adheres to internal policies and procedures as well as all external legal and regulatory requirements related to construction projects. This role serves as the Vice Lead of Internal Audit and plays a key part in facilitating compliance with government permits, licenses, and industry standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Vice Lead- Internal Audit

    -Assist the Internal Audit Lead in developing and executing the annual audit plan.

    -Conduct internal audits of departments, projects, and processes to evaluate risks, controls, and compliance.

    -Prepare detailed audit findings, recommendations, and follow-up reports.

-Ensure corrective actions are implemented on audit findings.

-Support investigations into compliance or ethical issues.

-Help maintain audit documentation and evidence as per audit standards.

  1. Government and Regulatory Compliance

    -Coordinate and facilitate timely applications, renewals, and submissions of permits, clearances, and licenses related to construction projects.

    -Liaise with government agencies

    -Monitor updates to laws, regulations, and standards affecting construction compliance.

    -Ensure company compliance with occupational safety, environmental, and labor regula-tions.

    -Maintain a compliance calendar to track deadlines and regulatory requirements.

    -Respond to regulatory inquiries and inspections.

  2. Documentation and Reporting

    -Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance-related documents and corre-spondence.

    -Prepare compliance reports for management and regulators.

    -Monitor non-compliance issues and initiate corrective actions.

    -Support external audits and certifications (e.g., ISO 9001:2015).

  3. Training and Awareness

    -Conduct or coordinate compliance awareness sessions for employees, contractors, and stakeholders.

    -Assist in developing internal policies and SOPs to improve compliance and reduce risk.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2-4 years of relevant experience in audit, regulatory compliance, or construction industry compliance.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards, local permit processes, and construction laws preferred.
