Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, commission, and test generator systems (standby, prime, or continuous duty units).
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on generator sets and associated equipment (transfer switches, fuel systems, batteries, control panels, etc.).
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues on various generator brands.
  • Conduct load bank testing and battery testing.
  • Maintain accurate service records, including job reports, maintenance logs, and parts used.
  • Ensure all work is done safely and complies with company policies, OEM guidelines, and local codes.
  • Communicate clearly with customers to explain issues, repairs, and preventive maintenance recommendations.
  • Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment in good condition.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service calls, including nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); vocational/technical school or OEM certifications preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience servicing diesel/gas-powered generators or similar equipment.
  • Working knowledge of internal combustion engines, AC/DC electrical systems, and generator controls.
  • Familiarity with brands such as Cummins, Generac, Kohler, Caterpillar, or MTU is a strong plus.
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency (e.g., for service documentation or OEM diagnostic software).
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record advantage
