Job Title: Group Accounting Manager/Controller

Job Location: Makati City

Budget Salary: 150k-180k

Job Summary:

The
Group Accounting Manager
will oversee and manage the financial accounting, consolidation, and reporting of multiple entities engaged in both
retail
and
construction
sectors in the Philippines. The role ensures compliance with
Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS)
,
tax regulations (BIR)
, and other statutory requirements (
SEC, PEZA, etc.
). The position is responsible for the integrity of financial records, timely reporting, process improvements, and supporting strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Group Consolidation & Financial Reporting

  • Supervise the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process for all group entities.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements in compliance with
    PFRS/IFRS
    .
  • Ensure proper intercompany eliminations and reconciliations.
  • Review financial statements and management reports submitted by business units.

Retail & Construction Accounting Oversight

  • Retail Sector:
  • Ensure accurate inventory accounting, sales reporting, POS reconciliation, and cost of goods sold (COGS) tracking.
  • Oversee gross margin analysis, returns management, and sales tax compliance.
  • Construction Sector:
  • Manage project-based accounting including
    cost-to-complete
    ,
    percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
    ,
    variation orders
    , and
    WIP reporting
    .
  • Coordinate with project managers and quantity surveyors on cost tracking and billing schedules.

Tax Compliance & Regulatory Reporting

  • Ensure full compliance with
    BIR requirements
    (e.g., VAT, EWT, income tax, and annual ITR filing).
  • Prepare and submit
    financial statements to the SEC
    and other regulators (e.g., BOI, PEZA if applicable).
  • Liaise with tax consultants and ensure updated knowledge of local tax laws and incentives.

Audit & Internal Controls

  • Serve as the main point of contact for
    external auditors
    and coordinate the
    annual audit
    process.
  • Prepare audit schedules and resolve issues to ensure timely completion of audits.
  • Strengthen internal controls across all accounting processes and recommend improvements.

ERP & Process Improvements

  • Oversee the effective use of the ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, NetSuite) to support accounting operations.
  • Drive automation of manual processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement best practices across both retail and construction accounting workflows.

Team Management & Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants across various locations and business units.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment and ensure ongoing training and compliance with accounting standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Accountancy
    ;
    Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
    is
    required
    .
  • At least
    7–10 years of progressive accounting experience
    , including
    3+ years in a managerial/group role
    .
  • Solid experience in both
    retail
    and
    construction
    industries is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of
    PFRS, BIR regulations, and SEC reporting
    .
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, NetSuite, Oracle).
