- Work Experience:A minimum of five years of experience in finance and accounting roles, such as an analyst or accountant, is necessary to build practical skills.
- Professional Certifications:Certifications like CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are highly advantageous.
Technical Skills (Hard Skills)
- Bank Reconciliation & Cash Management:A thorough understanding of cash flow, liquidity, and the ability to oversee daily cash positioning and reconciliation are crucial.
- Financial Analysis & Reporting:Strong data analysis, financial forecasting, and the ability to prepare accurate financial statements are essential.
- Budgeting & FP&A:Knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting (FP&A) is a core requirement.
- Risk Management:Expertise in identifying and managing financial risks, including fraud and operational risks.
- Accounting Principles:A deep understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other accounting standards.
- Software Proficiency:Proficiency in accounting and financial software, including spreadsheet programs like Microsoft Excel.
